Bloomberg | Getty ImagesThe CEO of French consumer goods giant Danone downplayed the threat of obesity drugs on its food business, arguing that consumers were likely to turn to healthy products as part of their new weight loss regime. Antoine de Saint-Affrique said that surging demand for drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro would only increase consumer appetite for more nutritional products. "We see ourselves as extremely complementary to GLP-1s," de Saint-Affrique told CNBC's Charlotte Reed Wednesday. GLP-1s, or glucagon-like peptide 1 agonists, are the underlying class of drugs in weight loss injections such as Wegovy and Mounjaro. watch nowThe rapid rise of such drugs has prompted concern among food makers, who fear falling sales as consumer appetite wanes.

The assault that forced the evacuation of the hospital and left dozens of homes ablaze was blamed on the Brooklyn gang. Previous attacks in Cite Soleil and other areas have left hundreds of civilians dead as gangs pillage communities, raping and killing people inside their homes. During the recent clashes in the sprawling seaside slum that led up to Wednesday’s attack, gangs could be seen traveling by boat to surprise and kill rival gang members, Ulysse said. Then, after everyone inside the hospital grew quiet, she heard gangs outside arguing whether or not to burn the facility. Those interviewed praised the police and Ulysse, who pleaded for help via social media as the facility came under attack.

REUTERS/Eric Gaillard/File photo Acquire Licensing RightsPARIS, Oct 26 (Reuters) - French food group Danone (DANO.PA) raised its 2023 revenue growth forecast after its third-quarter sales beat analysts' estimates, as higher prices helped offset lower volumes. Overall, Danone increased its prices by 6.6% during the quarter while sales volume declined 0.3%, a sequential improvement led by Essential Dairy and Plant-based. Danone, like its rivals Nestle (NESN.S) and Unilever (ULVR.L), has increased prices to cope with higher commodities and supply chain costs. Last week, Nestle (NESN.S) posted lower-than-expected nine-month sales growth as higher product prices made shoppers balk.

As for today's edition, we're looking at how AI could upend the job of the junior banker, and the effect that'll have on Wall Street's traditional career path. AdvertisementAdvertisementAspiring financiers need to look no further than investment banks' analyst programs to get a foot in the door. But this crucial piece of Wall Street's ecosystem could be upended by the rise of artificial intelligence. Regardless of what direction things go, what's clear is the type of work AI excels at falls directly in junior bankers' wheelhouse.

This is understandable; dedications can be cryptic and the copyright information feels like it’s meant for someone else. Consider the three quotes at the beginning of Angie Kim’s best-selling “Happiness Falls,” which she said help explain what inspired her to write the novel. Ultimately Kim selected snippets from Emily Dickinson (“I lost a World — the other day!/Has anybody found?”); Stephen Hawking (“It’s a crazy world out there. Be curious”); and Antoine de Saint-Exupery, whose book “The Little Prince” provides the most important part of the trio, she said. “That was the first time I read ‘The Little Prince’ in English.”

VACCARELLO’S DEBUT FOR Saint Laurent wasn’t as rapturously received as Yves Saint Laurent’s for Dior. “Anthony has been scrutinized and told his dresses were too vulgar or too sexy,” he says. US intelligence is trying to figure out what led a plane to crash in Russia, apparently killing Yevgeny Prigozhin. Theories include an explosion caused by a bomb or other sabotage. Early theories on what may have caused the plane to plummet from the sky reportedly include an explosion caused by a bomb, a surface-to-air missile, or some other kind of sabotage like tampered-with fuel. AdvertisementAdvertisementA bomb or another device placed on the jet could have caused the blast, the anonymous officials told the Times. Gen. Patrick Ryder told reporters Thursday there was no indication to suggest that a surface-to-air missile caused the plane crash.

The NewsAfter months of speculation, Chloé said its creative director, Gabriela Hearst, was leaving the French fashion house after a three-year tenure. Why It Matters: Chloé was vying to become a beacon of sustainable fashionMs. Hearst, a Uruguay-born designer of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, founded her namesake luxury label in New York in 2015 before joining Chloé in December 2020. To many observers the combination of Ms. Hearst and Chloé appeared to be a savvy match. But rumors throughout 2023 indicated that Ms. Hearst and Chloé might part ways, in part because of pressures placed on the designer by her trans-Atlantic schedule. Throughout her tenure, Ms. Hearst continued to run her New York-based business while leading the Chloé design studio in Paris.

The case against Saint-Gobain and its local unit was filed to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in May by a retired glass industry executive, whose name was redacted in the documents as the person sought confidentiality. Saint-Gobain has a 44% share of the float glass market in India and a 19% share of the coated one, according to the documents. The group and its India unit, Saint-Gobain India Private Limited, "conduct their activities in compliance with laws", in particular competition law, it said. The May 25 case documents allege Saint-Gobain entered into agreements with glass processors, forcing them to "exclusively" purchase glass from the company or face stopped supplies if that obligation is not fulfilled. Saint-Gobain counts India as a key market.

PARIS, April 26 (Reuters) - Danone (DANO.PA) raised its 2023 sales growth outlook after it reported higher-than-expected first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, as the world's largest yoghurt maker was able to raise prices in the face of high raw materials and energy costs. Danone, maker of Activia yoghurt, Evian water and Aptamil infant milk said it expected like-for-like 2023 sales growth of between 4% and 6%, having previously forecast 3-5% growth. PARIS, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Danone (DANO.PA) like-for-like quarterly sales growth topped estimates on Wednesday on the back of higher prices amid soaring raw materials and energy costs which still weighed down its full-year operating margin.
